Happy Birthday Evan!!!

Happy Birthday to my sweet little boy!!! He is 4 and I can not believe it. In a year, we will be walking him into kindergarten. Ahhh!
I could not imagine being at this point in life and not having my kids. You learn more about love than you have ever known once you have kids. They teach you so much about love, joy, humility, and selflessness. Life would be pretty dull without them. Any hard time is overshadowed by all the good ones.

Birthday Boy and Ainsley (how great is her smile there?!)

I put a series of pictures of Evan over the years on his birthdays.

This first picture is the picture the nursery took of him in the hospital.

He is so tiny.

Happy 4 Months Ainsley!!!

Today, Ainsley is 4 months old! I can not believe she is already that old! And I have one more week with her at home, which makes me incredibly sad. She is such a good baby. I can take her out and run errands and she never fusses. You can tell she loves Evan so much already! When he comes around, her face just lights up.
Ainsley has kind of gone on strike with the rolling. She did it some one day and decided not to anymore. I am ready for her to roll around and be able to sit on her own, but that is it. I do not want her to grow up past that- lol.
I take her for her 4 week check up next week. I had to take her to the doctor last week and she had her first ear infection. She was already close to 15 lbs.!

Here are some more pictures of Evan's birthday party. His birthday is a week from Sunday!

He is big into super heroes right now.

We celebrated Evan's 4th birthday and Baylee's 3rd birthday.

On of the many Ironman toys from his Nanny and Grandaddy.

Spiderman from Mommy and Daddy.

Playing some arcade games.

They still had lots of energy even after their party.

Long Weekend.

This weekend was a 3 day weekend for us. Since we came home from the beach on Thursday, Freddie got to have an extra day home for the weekend before going back to work. We mostly just hung around the house...not cleaning.

Sunday was the first time we took Ainsley to church. It was also the first time she was taken care of by someone other than family. Of course the whole service I was nervous and waiting for her number to show up on the screen to go tend to her. We have yet to find a church here in Lufkin. We have probably visited around 10 and at times it is hard with all the traveling we have to do. The search was put on hold when Ainsley got here, since she would have been to little to take. I decided I was finally going to visit this church I have been wanting to go to, and thought it the perfect chance for her to wear one of her dressy outfits. Ainsley did as well as expected. She was already sleepy for her morning nap, so she was asleep when I went in to get her.

I love this picture of Freddie and Ainsley.

I'm ready to walk Mom and Dad!

Beach Vacation!

This past week we went on our first family vacation. Freddie and I have always taken trips, but this was the first time we took Evan with us anywhere. We were going to plan a trip to Destin since the beach would be the only type of trip we could easily bring Ainsley, but my parents were going to plan a trip so it worked out perfect. And NO...there is NO oil still! As you can see below, it was BEAUTIFUL! I put up a few pictures as highlights. The rest of the pictures are on Facebook...there were too many to upload on here.

We drove through the night, which worked out really well. We only stopped one time on the way there for gas and that was it. Both kids slept almost the entire time and we never had to deal with any fussiness. The way back was a little different. We left earlier in the day and had to make a few potty stops on the way to Baton Rouge. Once we got to Baton Rouge, we stopped to visit my best friend Courtney and let the kids have a break. We then headed home at their bedtime, so again we did not have to stop and they slept the whole way!

Evan had more fun than I can describe. He didn't take naps because he was too busy on the beach all day. I was SUPER paranoid about him getting sunburned so I was constantly putting sunscreen on him or pestering others to do it. I would then make him wear a shirt during the worst parts of the day. I was surprised at how daring he was about walking along the beach and playing in the shallow parts of the water.

Ainsley on the other hand really could not go out at all. Freddie and I took turns being inside with her and a few times I would bring her out under the canopy that was set up. We let her take a couple of naps in a pack-n-play under the canopy when the sun was not too strong. She did sleep ALL night every night that we were there. It was great!

Freddie and Evan caught a little fish.

One of Ainsley's naps under the canopy on the beach.

Playing with some beach toys.

Another nap on the beach.

He called this his "swimming pool."

Aside from the day Ainsley was born, I think this is one of our first family pictures. This was outside The Crab Trap the night we all went out to eat.

Out to eat during our short stop in Baton Rouge. Courtney's first time to see Ainsley since she came to the hospital. Needless to say, Ainsley looks a little different.

Happy 3 months Ainsley!!!

This is a day late, but Ainsley turned 3 months (13 weeks) yesterday! She is growing too fast... it does not seem like that much time as passed. I am dreading the next 6 weeks or so passing too quickly when I have to put her in daycare.

Ainsley has started laughing some and she has almost completely rolled from her back to her stomach. She is about 90% of the way around and then her arm gets in her way. She is only trying to roll because she is rooting around for food against the floor... imagine that. I think it is so funny how she acts like she is always starving. Also, she slept an entire 8 hrs. straight last night. Hopefully, she will be sleeping like that more often, especially when I go back to work.

I took this last night. Showing a little Tech spirit. I took some with my phone and she would smile, but the flash from the camera startles her. I just want to pinch those cheeks!

Here is a picture of Evan doing sparklers on the 4th of July. I did not get pictures of much else because Freddie was not the safest person to be around with the fireworks.

Time moves too fast...

Ainsley is growing too fast.

This is one of my favorite pictures to date. This is both of the kids in their pjs with bears we made them from Build-a-Bear.
